Operation targeting stolen vehicles

Operation TAVACO - Tackling Vehicle Crime Across North Warwickshire

Over the weekend, officers hit the streets as part of a targeted operation to combat vehicle crime and road traffic offences across North Warwickshire.

Working alongside colleagues from our Rural Crime Team, Special Constabulary, Roads Policing, and partners at Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Police, the operation focused on known offenders and those using the road network to commit crime.

Here is a snippet of what the team got up to,

 3 Stolen vehicles recovered

 6 Cloned vehicles identified

 4 Uninsured vehicles seized

 Numerous Traffic offence reports issued

 33 ANPR markers responded to

 5 Arrests made for offences including drink driving, dangerous driving, fail to stop and attempted murder

Johnny Howells, the lead for Operation Tavaco, said:

“We will continue to do our best in combatting vehicle crime in the north of the county, disrupting offenders, preventing offences and protecting our community. Cross-border working with neighbouring forces is key to targeting those who use our roads to commit crime.”

This is another strong example of partnership policing and our commitment to keeping Warwickshire’s roads and communities safe.
